“Unmasked” is a 2015 film short produced by a group of Palo Alto High School students who wanted to open community conversations about mental health, with an emphasis on hope, communication and moving forward. Like our community, Palo Alto has experienced higher rates of youth depression and recent clusters of youth suicide. A youth-led panel will follow, focusing on new initiatives to relieve stress in our teens lives, promote wellness, and prepare our community to help them when they struggle.

In addition, a dozen local organizations will host resource tables about how to connect with mental health and substance use prevention and treatment in our community.

SCHEDULE:

6:30pm — Doors Open/Browse mental health and wellness resource organization tables

7:00pm – 8:30pm — Movie Screening/Panel Discussion with teens and leaders of new community initiatives

8:30pm – 9:00pm — Resource Tables available

TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN OPENING UP THE CONVERSATION AND BRINGING AWARENESS — Join us on October 13, 2016.
