Our Community
COS is a volunteer group of parents, teens, school administration, mental health professionals and other concerned citizens from Fairfax county who share a common interest: helping our teens live happy, healthy lives.
Our goals focus on the following:
Better preparing our teens for the challenges and stress that they are facing now and as they become adults
Providing parents, teachers, and school administrators with the resources and tools they need to support our teens
Educating our community about mental health — sharing resources and reducing stigma
How we came together
In May 2013, two parents formed COS in response to their concern and sadness over a number of teen suicides in the community. COS strives to bring people together to talk, share ideas and resources in an effort to support our teens. Our meetings focus on taking action in work groups. These work groups may also meet outside of the COS meeting.

Get Connected
Community of Solutions strives to bring awareness to issues that affect our teens by encouraging conversations throughout all areas of the community. We can all make an impact by passing along information, voicing our concerns and opinions, and keeping the lines of communications open.
